African Elephants are the largest land animals on earth. They can grow up to 4 meters tall, weighing up to 6 tonnes. They can live up to 70 years of age. The ears of the elephant resemble the map impression of the african continent. Elephants eat of types of vegetation that includes fruits, roots and a variety of savanna grass. Elephants tend to eat food weighing up to 10% of their weight. The eldest female elephant in a herd is the leader. The leader depends on her memory and many of experience to lead the herd to proper feeding grounds, water spots and safe grounds to shield from extreme weather elements.
